Thread of my ratings of UC mascots:
UCR: 7/10
- he has crazy eyes that kinda scare me
- I really like his little hat & tongue that pokes out
- looks like a nice guy but tries to be more intimidating in his illustration form
-overall I like
UCI: 6/10
- really love the illustration form bc it reminds me of a kid cartoon but the costume version leaves much to be desired for me
- visually confusing to me, I think it’s just kinda hard to fit a human inside an anteater shape tbh
UCSB: 3.5/10
-idk just seems problematic
-I’m not really into human based mascots honestly
-I think I’ve seen UCSB ppl try to change it to a raccoon and I think that’s cooler imo
Berkeley: 5/10
- I wanna give this fool a swirlie
- he’s honestly a lil bit of a catfish compared to his illustration form
- idk he just weirdly doesn’t really look like a bear it confuses me
- I don’t like that he has human hands
UC Merced: 8.5/10
- really love the costume form, reminds me of Tasmanian devil from looney tunes
- illustrated form is pretty solid
- I like cats so I’m biased
UCLA: 8.5/10
- I like that there’s a boy and a girl one
- I think it’s really funny they give him muscles to make him a lil furry-like, esp in the merch series in the 3rd pic 😭
- I don’t like the eyebrows tho
-joe bruins a total chad tho and I’m a Bruin so I have to respect
UCSC: 9/10
-such an ambitious choice for a mascot, HAVE to respect it
-costume is hilarious, illustration form is adorable
-the costume form is like a wacky teletubby it’s very intriguing to me
UC Davis: 7/10
-costume form weirdly reminds me of David Henry I’m not mad at that tho
- illustration form goes pretty hard
- overall I like, he seems chill
UCSD: 7/10
- pretty good but again I’m not super into human-like mascots
- it’s funny to me that he’s muscular and shirtless, it just tickles me when they design mascots to be handsome 😭
- reminds me of Ariel, which is a good thing
