LeGend Taliferro survived open heart surgery when he was 4-months-old. His mother said he had "the heart of a lion." He was ready for this year's American Heart Association Walk.

Last month, he was killed in his sleep by criminals.

Shootings have skyrocketed in recent months across America. Murders are up in major cities and too many of the criminals causing this mayhem are going unpunished.

@TheJusticeDept launched Operation LeGend to support local law enforcement and end this violent crime wave.

Today, @realDonaldTrump, the Attorney General, and LeGend's mother announced this program would be expanded to other cities dealing with surges in violent crimes, including Chicago.

LeGend's mother said it best: "Something has to be done. It has to stop."

She's right.

And shame on the disgraceful mayors more concerned with attacking the President and winning woke points than they are with stopping murders.

In Chicago, under @LoriLightfoot, 63 people were shot *last weekend*, at least 12 were killed, and there have been 2,000 shooting victims this year.

Yet her anger is directed at the federal law enforcement trying to stop this bloodshed—not at the murderers causing the violence.
