This story on Wirecard fugitive CEO Jan Marsalek is insane, can't tell yet if all of it is true but it is insane.

How did a con artist like this get contracts to control & process bank & credit card transactions?

So before taking over handling credit & debit transactions & electronic payment system across Europe & the Middle East, Marsalek posed as a representative of the Government of the Grenada.

Purpose? To buy hacking tools they only sell to governments for spying!

He even set up fake domains for the State of Grenada to help with his con, but didn't try too hard as he used his address & servers in Munich Germany, not Grenada.

If you haven't followed the story, Wirecard got a lot of business handling transactions but more than $2B disappeared in the layers of transactions. Skimming the money from inside the ATM & businesss so to speak.

While several Wirecard executives have surrendered, confessed & agreed to cooperate.
Marsalek ran, supposedly to Belarus & then Russia where it is claimed he is under the protection of FSB, the Russian intelligence agency.
Who knows if any of that is true, but it is bizarre.

Other weird claims including being able to deliver 15k Libyan militiamen as a mercenary army & hanging out in Syria with the Russian army.

Could all be parts of cons, or he could be a spy, no clue at this point.

Here's his forged letter to Hacking Team from the government of Grenada. But it actually got him invited to sit down for a sales meeting!

Supposedly a Mexican intermediary arranged the meetings!

Nikolas Steele the minister from Grenada claims it is a forgery & he didn't sign it or know about it...

But Steele claims he met Marsalek in 2013 when he tried to pitch Wirecard services to him.

Encryptech, a Mexican company that was allegedly involved in the deal claims they know nothing & that Marsalek faked it all.

Representatives of the survivor company that took over when Hacking Team when out of business, say there are no records the sale occurred. That they only sold hacking tools to governments with Italian govt export approval.

Time will tell if that is true...

I say this because Hacking Team was involved in selling hacking tools to United Arab Emirates & used by a bunch of former NSA cybermercenaries working for them out of Baltimore.
