Thread on today's Congressional hearing on betting on college sports:
1. People outside of the betting community either can't comprehend or refuse to believe how giant the offshore market is. It is large enough to sustain dozens of commercial books and hundreds of local bookies.

2. A repeated argument by sports betting opponents focuses on prop bets. Sen. Graham today talked about betting whether the first play is a run or pass.
It's unnecessary, imo, but seems like that would be an inexpensive concession for the industry to give up -- college props.

3. Don’t be surprised if sports betting gets tied into the NIL/player compensation legislation in some way.
Finally, I do not expect betting on college sports to be banned.
