Racial gaslighting is when someone clearly recognises themselves from that shared experience, feels discomfort at what they have done, then asks for an apology from the person who spoke about how they felt when treated in that way 2/n
Racial gaslighting is a manager protecting a white colleague and more concerned with the reputation of a department (that was not under threat due to no institution or individual named) rather than challenging the behaviour that led a BAME member of staff to feel marginalised 3/n
Racial gaslighting is when although individuals say they want to help, be anti-racist etc but show no intention to examine the culture of their department 4/n
Racial gaslighting is censoring an individual with no grounds. Using their power to brow beat that person into backing down 5/n
Racial gaslighting happens in my profession. It has happened to someone I know and I'm disgusted. I'm disgusted at this incident and disgusted that I still recognise this from the 25 years I have been qualified 6/n
The CSP are working hard with @cspbame to address some of the issues of representation and problematic experiences of BAME physios but for change to happen, some colleagues need to take a long.....hard....look at themselves and their behaviour. 7/7
