People say that no one essentializes things on the left and then are allergic to looking at structural explanations for behavior. They're not rationalizations or saying that it's 'okay' because we understand it better.

..But that's how we take it. Do ya'll realize you do this??
For example, during the gamergate discourse that resulted around Peter because they had the 'audacity' to provide a structural analysis of alienated white and angry gamers, people said that they were justifying the gamers' misogynistic attitudes.
..They jumped. They took someone trying to analyze what happened from a Marxist perspective where that phenomenon was dissected so we could better understand it since it helped elevate and birth the alt-right, but that was meant with scolding and hostility.
There was a visceral and intense knee jerk reaction to trying to understand the very people that want to kill us because their alienated attitudes and frustration are seduced by dangerous thought leaders (shapiro, crowder) to aim them at marginalized people.
We're not supposed to structurally analyze the people we hate because putting a microscope under what made them that way offers them too much humanity.

Therefore, it's easier and 'safer' to essentialize them and act as if they as human beings were always going to be terrible.
It's also intellectually lazy. It's lazy in general because you can't expect to get anything done or change or abolish anything if you essentialize the opposition. Most of the opposition aren't the ruling class. Some are, but a lot of them are misguided idiots.
...Who are still dangerous and still have privileges and access to power that can hurt people. Yes, we know. Here's your gold star for shallowly caring about marginalized people. ⭐

But uh, yeah. Ya'll essentialize people. And in this sense, you're racially essentializing them.
Aka "White People Bad" (i.e 'why are we focusing on them? lets just focus on marginalized people who need us and lets just let them be seduced by more intelligent reactionaries, white people = white ideology and that's bad')

+ "Poc People Good" ('they can never be reactionary')
