I'm asked why I focus so much on PPE/masks/face shields, compared to, eg, testing:
1) we're not going to have a national testing strategy with Trump as POTUS;
2) the point of testing is to isolate people who are COVID+ – here's the thing, we aren't going to support them

It's abundantly clear that this country doesn't give a single fuck about people who are sick – we aren't going to provide people who are COVID+ with help – we're not going to provide cash, child care support, food assistance.
We're going to threaten them with police violence
We're going to threaten them with police violence
We can do masking now – I believe we have a better chance of getting to 80% mask/PPE adoption without intervention from the federal government than we do getting to what so many experts are calling for w.r.t. testing targets without the feds.
The evidence I'm familiar with (from epidemiological modeling / the experience of other nation-states) strongly indicates that level of PPE/mask adoption (80%+) would drive the COVID19 incidence rate into the ground.
Bluntly, I'm sick & tired of listening to 'public health experts' continually calling for "more testing" as the answer to the pandemic without so much as even bothering to acknowledge what happens to people who are COVID+
never-mind their failure to meaningfully reckon with it
