Hi @GovInslee, I don't get it: People over 45 are 1/3 of the state's prison population but comprise almost half of those incarcerated who have tested positive for #Covid19. This is in keeping with the scientific evidence. Why have you not offered relief to aging prisoners?
Throughout the pandemic, you've rightly insisted that we "need to base decisions on science and reality." And science and reality have said that people over 50 are both more susceptible to the pandemic and least likely to reoffend. Yet as cases rise, incarcerated elders remain.
Here's a great clip of you talking about being rooted in science. https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2020/03/29/sotu-inslee-full.cnn
And here's a report--one of many--showing that aging and elderly people pose almost no risk of reoffending. When will you science, not right-wing fear-mongering, govern the pandemic response when it comes to incarcerated people? http://www.justicepolicy.org/research/12320?utm_source=%2fUnger&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=redirect
