There is nothing special about trans rights which would elevate them above women's rights and turn them into 'human rights'. This is pure propaganda from the trans lobby. https://twitter.com/LabWomenDec/status/1285922119646404608
Human rights have an urgency and importance which regular rights don't have. Trans activist are trying to suggest that their rights trump 'regular' women's rights.
Even if trans rights are human rights then so are women's rights. Either way, whether they are regular or human rights, trans rights do not have priority over women's rights. This is the sleight of hand that the trans lobby is pushing.
Another myth is that there cannot be a rights clash because 'trans women are women'. They both want the same thing - and that is nonsense of course.
Trans women want access to female-only spaces. Women want to protect their spaces from male-bodied people. There is definitely a rights clash.
In the 60s and 70s the fight for women's rights gained momentum. They achieved a lot. But the transgender movement teaches us that the oppression of women has taken a new turn. Now women are supposed to invite their oppressors into their protected spaces.
It is shocking that many women in the Labour Party and in the Greens have bought into transgender ideology. They are applauding their own oppression. Gramsci called this 'cultural hegemony'. The oppressed consent to their own oppression.
