Personal perspective on COVID testing in IL:
I got tested last Thursday at a free city site. Still no results.
Paid $150 today & got results (negative) within 2 hours.
Serious problem here.
I came in "close contact" w/ a friend who lost smell/taste a few days later. I have had NO symptoms, but wanted to do the right thing. For people with no sick time - how can they afford to isolate for a week while awaiting results? THEN 2 more weeks if positive?
Testing turn-around time has to be a priority to get a handle on this disease. This experience was eye-opening for me as a reporter covering the daily developments for months now.....
