The Kolbers are Kurdish workers who smuggle goods on their backs or through horses from the neighboring borders towards Eastern Kurdistan for a less than considerable amount of cash.

The paths Kolbers take to transfer their products is highly dangerous and they have to constantly keep vigilance from Irani soldiers whom unhesitatingly open fire if they catch any Kolbers in sight

Between 2013 to 2015 approximately 180 Kolbers have been shot dead by Iranian police/military and and nearly 170 were wounded.

Another deadly obstacle Kolbers are bound to face is the immense cold climate in winter, plenty of Kolbers have froze to death on the freezing mountains while transferring goods.

The reason why Kolbers choose this lifestyle and put their lives on the line is because the Iranian regime has economically neglected Eastern Kurdistan, adding to that, the Kurdish territory in iran suffers the highest unemployment rate.
