How to react to the Wattpad breach (and if you've been pwned before); a thread:

The website http://haveibeenpwned.com  shows you if your email is registered in any website or app that suffered a security breach. Check your emails and if you've been pwned, read this thread.

1. If your Wattpad password is the same/a variation of a password you have in another account (Twitter as an example), change the password in Twitter. If you still want to use your Wattpad account, change that one too

2. Unlink your Wattpad account from Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter and Google. This is available on both web and app version of Wattpad.

3. If your Wattpad ID is the same as your ID in any other website/app. Change them (same as with the password)

4. If any of your passwords include/are your gender, nationality, or especially birth date, change them (Even if the two accounts aren't apparently linked, there are still logs).

5. If you've already given your password to any account through dms, or saved them on your Wattpad drafts, change those passwords. Delete your dms/drafts won't change much.

6. Remember that what hackers can threaten you with are your money accounts, passwords, and embarrassing pictures/informations (varies for everyone, but e.g are nudes, illegal drugs or child pornography).

Lastly, for the basic superficial person on the dark web, attacking you as a minor will be hard. Although you are n o t immune, a knowledgeable/determined enough person can still attack and threaten you
