1/ THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4445: Donald Trump answers question regarding the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell — Nonverbal and Emotional Intelligence
#BodyLanguage #BodyLanguageExpert #EmotionalIntelligence #GhislaineMaxwell #JeffreyEpstein
2/ Journalist (beginning at 19:53 in the above video): "Ahum, Ghislaine Maxwell is in prison, and so a lotta people wanna know if she's going to turn in powerful people..."
3/ "...I know you talked in the past about Prince Andrew and, ah, you've criticized Bill Clinton's behavior — I'm wondering, ah, eh, do you feel she's going to turn in powerful men? How do you think that's going to work out for them?"
4/ Trump: "I don't know. I haven't really been following it too much. I just wish her well, frankly. Ah, I've met her numerous times over the years — especially since I lived in Palm Beach and — I guess they lived in Palm Beach..."
5/ "...Ah, but I wish her well. Whatever it is. Ah, I don't know the situation with Prince Andrew. Just don't know. Not aware of it."
6/ As the journalist says, the first syllable of "Ghislaine", trump displays a strong expression of regret (19:54). This highly characteristic lateral lip-mouth configuration is commonly mistaken for disgust.
7/ At 19:58, after the journalist, says, "alotta people wanna know", Trump looks down and slightly to his right. This is the quadrant to which we look when we feel Guilt (both Guilt-Culpability and Guilt-Remorse), Shame, Sadness, and Deception.
8/ During 20:00 as the journalist says, "if she's going to turn in powerful people", Trump nods his head up and down in the affirmative.
9/ Less than a second later, as the journalist says, "I know you...", we see Trump display a second, less extreme, but still prominent, regret expression that is somewhat asymmetrical (more prominent on his left-side) which continues for about 2 seconds.
10/ And then, at 20:01, we see Trump display what is known as a hard-swallow. This signifies a dry throat indicating significant anxiety. Please watch the video as the still image does not capture the dynamic of this behavior.
11/ A few seconds later, during 20:06-20:07, just after the journalist says, "you've criticized Bill Clinton's behavior", Trump displays a forward lip purse.
12/ A forward lip purse signifies an undisclosed disagreement &/or a clandestine plan. In addition, those using a forward lip purse perceive themselves as alpha (relative to their audience) & that they believe that they have a good chance of successfully implementing their plan.
13/ At 20:10 we see Trump's eyebrows and eyelids moving in opposite directions as they elevate and close, respectively — just as he begins to say, "I don't know. I haven't really been following it too much."
14/ This opposite direction-dynamic of these two adjacent and finesse tissues is highly indicative of deception.
15/ Trump then says, "I just wish her well, frankly." Maxwell is known for her association with financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Earlier this month, she was arrested charged with the crimes of enticement of minors as well as the sex trafficking of children.
16/ Trump is openly wishing well a woman who is an alleged child sex trafficker and a long-time friend and alleged accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted childhood sex offender.
17/ He then uses the word, 'frankly' — a word which, when used, rarely carries the meaning of its dictionary definition. On the contrary, when you hear the use of the word, 'frankly', it's extremely highly correlated with manipulation and deception.
18/ Translation: Donald Trump, does not, at all, wish Ghislaine Maxwell well.
19/ Trump then goes on to say, "I've met her numerous times over the years" as he shakes his head no, in a classic side-to-side motion (20:16).
20/ This verbal-nonverbal contradiction indicates that Trump does *not* think he's 'met' Maxwell (as one would say with regarding an acquaintance) — rather Trump, *knows* Maxwell.
21/ Notice he's also simultaneously again looking down to his right while his eyelids are mostly closed and his eyebrows are once again, elevated.
22/ Trump then wishes Maxwell well a second time, "...Ah, but I wish her well" — as he again contradicts his affirmative words with his side-to-side shaking his head negative.
23/ Whenever the verbal language contradicts the body language, it is the body language that tells the truth.
24/ During 20:23-20:24, as he says, "whatever it is" Trump displays a Lip Curl. This is a sign of hubris-braggadocio-machismo, a body language/emotional display which is *profoundly* out-of-context.
25/ We again see Trump's forehead and eyebrows raising whilst his lids close as he says, "Ah, I don't know the situation with Prince Andrew. Just don't know. Not aware of it" (20:25). More deception.
26/ It's also noteworthy how Trump leaves off the first person singular pronoun, "I", when he says, "Just don't know. Not aware of it". This is a distancing phenomenon and a strong paralanguage (statement analysis) Tell for deception.
27/ SUMMARY: Donald Trump's nonverbal, verbal, and paralanguage behavior, with extremely high likelihood, reveals the following thought-feelings:

• Donald Trump does not wish Ghislaine Maxwell well. He wishes her ill.

continued...
28/
• Trump also has feelings of regret — but not regret for his prior acts, rather he regrets that he didn't prevent the Epstein-Maxwell situation from reaching the point where it could hurt his chances for re-election.

continued...
29/
• Trump does indeed believe that Ghislaine Maxwell will 'name names' — revealing to the authorities the identities of powerful men and women involved with child sex trafficking crimes.

• Trump absolutely knew where Maxwell and Epstein lived.

continued...
30/
• Donald Trump is very aware of "the situation" with Prince Andrew.

• Trump does have a plan to remedy his 'Ghislain Maxwell problem' — and he believes he has a high likelihood of success in 'pulling it off'.
31/ Addendum: The source video was changed slightly by NBC just after this analysis was written — timing is off slightly. Please add 4 seconds onto time markers in the article to adjust for accurate correlation w/ noted body language displays. I apologize for this inconvenience.
