1/ On Chicago's Recent Mass Shooting - Last night fifteen people where shot at a Gresham Funeral Home.

2/ It should be know that the Chicago Police Department KNEW about this attack before it happened and failed to be proactive and save lives.

3/ “I told the police they were going to shoot up the funeral, AND THEY JUST DID!!!!!” @TamarManasseh posted on Facebook. “Please tell me how this happened AFTER the police had been notified that it would?

4/ Many of the solutions to intra-communal gun violence has been to send more police into already over-policed communities. This act of violence shows us that safety and security (for many communities) literally doesn't mean police.

5/ For those of you who don't know... Chicago's west and south sides are sites of most of the city's gun violence.... these are the same communities that where heavily redlined and divested from.

6/ Just for context Auburn Gresham is a community that suffers from mass un/underemployment. It also sees a large police presence on any-given day.

7/ So when folks ask why this is happening... one its because folks don't value life (theirs or others)...this is happening because communities for decades have had bad schools, bad hospitals, and over-policing.

8/ Then CPD and @chicagosmayor will call for people to put the guns down. How do u tell people to stop from protecting themselves when the police don't?

9/ This is all happening while the Federal Government is sending Homeland Security Officials to the city to "help" with curbing violence. @chicagosmayor said she wouldn't allow them too, thats because her goons (CPD) are already bussing teeth out of young Black women.

10/ So as Chicago becomes a talking points yet again...I'll remind folk that our lives are just numbers. Our lives aren't disposable and this city has failed for decades to invest in them.
