Investing Field Guide 101 (a Thread)

Getting started with investments is like driving a car.

You come from a background of riding passenger and not taking responsibility to now being in control of your vehicle.

You start by observing the road & the rules

You follow people that are ahead of you and further along.

Then, you learn. You read the manual(s) & study to kingdom come.

Learn the rules. Learn the behaviours. The do’s and don’ts.

Once you’ve studied long and hard, now you write tests and take action.

You write your drivers test/open a paper trading account to get a feel for it.

Whether you pass or fail determines how you proceed.

After your test, you get to drive.

Once you’re in the vehicle, you make the decisions. After learning everything you could to get where you are, you take action.

Just because you have a license now doesn’t make you immune to threats and real risk on the roads.

Safe drivers and investors all follow similar rules.

They are aware and responsible. They know their surroundings and drive/invest accordingly.
