I see a lot of people running their mouths about how Lightfoot is the reason for Chicago’s violence and she needs help from Trump’s Gestapo.
1) Where the fuck have you been? Chicago’s gun/gang violence problems (at least the one’s that get covered by national media) aren’t new.

2) I’m not going to sit here and debate with you about this part: There are systemic problems in the Chicago Police Department that have created a culture of distrust between citizens and the police. That’s on them, not the mayor. CPD can be downright useless at times.
3) Instead of turning to a president who absolutely gives zero shits about the city of Chicago and the people living here and asking for help from his SS, who won’t help but actually escalate the problems, ask yourself “What would I have Lightfoot do? What’s the easy fix here?”
4) DO NOT take the bait of people arguing that they’re only concerned about protests in relation to the dangers of COVID-19. Bullshit. The people mocking the protests and how it spreads the virus just don’t believe in the reason for the protests. They want them to go away.
5) I can’t stress this point enough: There ISN’T an easy fix to Chicago’s gun violence. And Trump’s MAGA brigade wouldn’t be here to fix that. They’ll come here to gas, shoot, beat, and detain protestors. Those little pussies with no name tags aren’t marching into the South Side.
6) The only apparent solutions to the above problems, at least that I can see, are all going to take time. It starts with cleaning up CPD. Then finding and removing the weapons on the streets and the people using them. Then you need to invest in schooling in key areas here.
7) Last point that I need to make and I’m going to be a dick about it:

Side note: Why does every single person who leans even slightly conservative have this tendency to believe that all problems have easy solutions? The world is complex, fuckstick. Just because you’re an idiot doesn’t mean that the solution has to fit into your narrow understanding
None of this thread is to suggest that Lightfoot is beyond criticism. She’s made several decisions, particularly in the last few months, that have left me scratching my head. But...
