1/8 Why is Ethiopia in perpetual conflict with itself?

Thread

Vexing question? indeed, but don't despair- I have a theory

Here is my theory: The Abyssinian and non-Abyssinian thinking disparity.

My theory is promised on the following three pillars- see 2/5
2/8
1. Abyssinians are mainly Tigre and Amhara ethnic groups

2. Non-Abyssinians are the rest of Ethiopian ethnic groups

3. Ethiopia is complicated political geography with unequal ethnic groups.

What is Abyssinian thinking?

I argue that Abyssinian thinking is unique survivalist instincts based on the following two Solomonic beliefs; - see 4/5
4/8.a
Belief 1: Abyssinians have to economically & socially survive through expansion and conquests of surrounding territories and their inhabitants
4/8.b
Belief 2: Abyssinians’ existence depends on defending Christianity against the rise of Islam, and the proselytisation of followers of Pagan religions in the region.

What is non- Abyssinian thinking?

I argue that I argue that ‘non-Abyssinian thinking’ is a belief fully or partially internalised by all non-Abyssinian ethnic groups in Ethiopia during the tumultuous rule of Menelik II(1889-1913), and it is based on two primary thinking.
6/8
Thinking1. Ethiopia is political geography created to serve Christian Abyssinian ethnic groups while marginalising the rest

Thinking 2. Non-Abyssinian ethnic groups are part of modern Ethiopia through conquests and subjugation rather than through their own accord.
7/8
Based on the above thinking disparities fuelled by murky history and unwillingness to make corrections, Ethiopia is not at peace with itself.
8/8
It will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. In other words, it is the Abyssinian history and how its current empire is built, which are the ingredients of its perennial conflicts.

The solution is to use history to create a future unlike the past
Correction:
2/5- should read 2/8
4/5- should read 4/8
