I don’t think I have ever been as disgusted at the arrogant, sneering, elitism emanating from certain quarters of Twitter as I have been the last couple of days. The patronising conviction that anyone who doesn’t vote the same way as you *must be* brainwashed or stupid...

So instead of trying to take away their suffrage, focus on your own message, and why it wasn’t universally popular.

And consider this:
Maybe the ‘masses’ respect their democracy too much to risk voting for people who quite clearly don’t?
