3 It is preseved in a special glass vial below the skull.
4 Throughout the year the skull is kept in the crypt of the basilica, behind her alabaster sarcophagus (yes) and that of Cedonus, the blind man Jesus healed (yes) and Maximin, one of Jesus' 72 disciples (yes).
5 It is difficult to see except in the week of her feast day. If you hurry you can still join the procession today. Meanwhile, the adventures of the skull over the centuries would make a much better novel than Da Vinci Code.
