Thread. 3-4-3 Over 4-4-3:

3-4-3 suits the players we have at our disposal better. Alonso is poor at LB great at LWB, RJ was average after the restart and played great at RWB, the defence looks more comfortable with 3 CB's, Azpi making overlapping runs causing problems.
Rudiger/AC have been shaky in CB, both unreliable, Rudiger steps up in a 3atb formation and looks solid.

Jorginho's pace would be exposed in a 4-3-3, without Kante in the midfield, who has been our best player against Liverpool this season, in the supercup and reverse fixture
Without his ground coverage we would be exposed on the counter, leaving our unreliable defence vulnerable to Liverpools fierce attack. In the 3atb Jorginho can control the game more and have support from 3 CB's behind him leaving us in good numbers to stop a counter, taking
Pressure of off him and he won't be overrun so easily. With Kovacic beside him we will have a fluid midfield with a secure backline behind them.

People seem to be worried about the attacking threat of 3-4-3 that it lacks potency in the attack as we will have to drop an attacker
However that is not the case. Azpi makes overlapping runs at CB, overloading the oppositions full back, as seen on Sunday where he got an assist. Kovacic can more freely dribble into the attacking third knowing he has cover behind him. Pulisic/Willian/Mount along with our wing
Backs can cause a lot of problems doubling up on their full backs and getting crosses in to Giroud who is formidable in the air. Our attacking threat is not limited in a 3-4-3 even with dropping one of Puli-Mount-Willian. We still pack a lot of potency and can better expose the
Liverpool full backs who aren't great defensively.
