1/4 Amidst all the Corona news fatigue dont forget Palestine which is going through a brutal 2nd wave. The West Bank & Gaza have recorded 10,000 of their nearly total 11,000 COVID19 infections in the last month. This is one of worlds highest infections rates (relative to the pop)
2/4 The West Bank & Gaza health systems are collapsing under the pressure as a result of decades of Israeli military occupation & donor de-development. There are ONLY 255 intensive care beds in the West Bank for a population of 3 mill & 120 in Gaza for a population of 2 mill.
3/4 In total there are 6440 hospital beds for the entire population of 5 mill. The hospitals in Gaza operate consistently at "zero stock" & the West Bank hospitals have acute shortages. This isn't just about the virus, this is about the Israeli regime which has consistently ...
4/4... deprived Palestinians of the most basic fundamentals in life incl a functioning health system. Israel serves as a regime of comorbidity- it is directly responsible for the increased infections & the inability of the health care system to adequately treat patients.
