The proof of weakness in all security services in the face of political pressure is now multiple.

Some of this maybe resource issues, but others seem to stem from the improper role of politics when the threat comes from politicians & their personnel.

We see it in the USA too
How can we ensure that politicians do not pose a considerable threat to our security?

What has to be done to empower the security services to act with particular vigour when the Government itself seeks to shut down investigations.
When the Government has been infiltrated with bad actors, bad judgment, that puts Party finances before security?

When the Government does nothing in the face of attack on democratic processes?

When the Government refuses to investigate and protect?
When the threat to our country is as much from within?

Bought and paid for?

When MPs talk of patriotism but do not deliver it?

Does not put country first?

When the only country is really its own Party or personal greed.

When they become the destabilisers?
Who makes the final decisions about the dedication of resources to which threats?

Does the likes of Johnson
Raab
Gove &
Patel determine the priorities?

May? Hunt?
Cameron?

What if their priorities harm their own country’s safety & security?

What checks & balances are there?
What has happened to the Kim Darroch leaks?

Why did May prevent an investigation into Banks.

She said, as she resigned, crying “...to serve the country that I love”

Fine words.
I doubt that she reveres Johnson, Gove & Cummings
But does she love THIS country enough to look at the wreckage that a series of Conservative Governments, including hers, has left in their wake and speak out?

Or is the country that she loves really the Conservative Party?

Which will she and other MPs prioritise?
So far it has been the Conservative Party.

To be scrupulously fair the same was also true of Corbyn who prioritised his own ideology re the Skripals, refusing to condemn Russian actors & suggesting Novichok samples should be sent to Russia
The problem now – as the former CIA director James Woolsey once remarked – is that we live in a “jungle filled with a bewildering variety of poisonous snakes”.
Russia is just one of several hostile foreign states inimical to UK national interests. Lessons need to be learnt quickly to ensure the mistakes here aren’t repeated

Will Starmer and Thomas-Symonds pull it out of the bag demonstrating that state security is safer in their hands?
Look at this from the #RussiaReport.

There it is in black and white.

Consecutive Tory Governments, including May and Johnson (despite his “NYET” KNEW there was Russian Interference YET DID NOT IMMEDIATELY REQUIRE AN URGENT AND THOROUGH INVESTIGATION.

đź’ĄThey knew & did not.
