Unpopular BL Opinions : A Thread

Disclaimer: I'll mention some ships, dramas, and actors as examples for certain opinions, but in no way does that reflect my feelings toward them. I just needed examples.
Also, a lot of these are related to the cast or culture around BLs, not just the actual BLs
Thailand does not produce the best BLs, Taiwan does. I can think of 3 Thai BLs that can compare to most Taiwanese BLs, but Taiwan's HIStory series alone is better than 85% of Thai BLs
Confirmed queer actors who play BL characters are always WAY better actors than straight or supposedly straight actors who play BL characters. Looking at Fluke, Cooheart, and Mew!
2gether and BrightWin (the couple) fully deserve their success and not all of it should be owed to quarantine. Its story may have been cliche, but it is by no means a bad series
While we're in the subject of 2gether, some of y'all are WAY too overdramatic about the high five at the end of 2gether
Not every GMM actor should act in a BL or in a BL ship just because they're friends with or are associated with big BL actors, like Nanon or Arm
It is EVERY BL actor's responsibility to speak out on LGBT issues if they're gonna profit off of LGBT content
A lot of BLs hurt the image of queer people more than they help it. Tropes like nonconsensual scenes and stealing girl's boyfriends make queer men out to be toxic and threats to straight people
You can like ships of the actors without liking the series or ship they're from. I personally like MewGulf, but I don't vibe with the relationship of Tharn and Type
As much as I love MewGulf, no matter how you put it, TharnType's plot was messy. MewGulf's chemistry was the show's only saving grace
3 Will Be Free isn't considered a BL, but it handles queer issues way better than most BLs do
We need more Thai dramas that just happen to have LGBT couples (3WBF, The Stranded, The Gifted if we're lucky) rather than just straight up BLs
BLs with multiple genres are ALWAYS better than BLs that are just in the romance genre. Look at UWMA, HCTM, The Untamed, Trapped
Ships where a character pursue another character that has continuously shown no interest in them is a toxic trope that BLs need to get rid of. TinCan, KornKnock, and FighTor for example. Tsundere characters who play hard to get don't fall into this category.
Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, but BLs need to stop villainizing effeminate gay men and trans women as if they don't face the most criticism in real life already
Addicted Heroin is the granddaddy of toxic BLs and is not deserving of the praise that it gets. 80% of the romantic scenes between the two leads are nonconsensual, Gu Hai raises every red flag ever, and he also KIDNAPS the guy he likes and forces himself on him while he's tied up
RamKing, MekBoss, and TharaFrong are the only valid couples in My Engineer. I'm sorry BohnDuen stans
My Engineer's OST is not that good, oml why are people hyping it up???
Thai actors should be banned from TikToks solely because of the secondhand embarrassment they give everyone
TayGun >>> OffGun. Yes, this is the hill I will die on
Excessive fanservice from actors can be annoying and have the potential to be emotionally manipulative if there is no actual payoff
Liking gay ships does not automatically exclude you from the possibility of being a homophobe
BL fans need to stop romanticizing, normalizing, and dismissing overpossessiveness and physical abuse between BL couples just because the couple is cute
Fiat and Oaujun are undebatably the ONLY Thai actors we've seen that are great at dancing. Cooheart and Toptap are fine, but Fiat and Oaujun have technique and the way they can control their body is almost comparable to a K Idol
While we're in the subject of Fiat, he truly is the one true multitalented king. He's a god tier dancer, he has the range for acting, he can sing well in English and Thai, AND he can actually rap with a flow
As much as I love He's Coming To Me, I can never get over the fact that Mes fell in love with Thun even tho he watched him grow up. Also, I hope I'm wrong, but Mes implied that he like Thun since he was a kid???
The meow scenes in TharnType and Why R U did not have to happen cuz OMFG it still haunts me at night
I personally don't think Thailand will be the pioneer of BL dramas in the future if they keep pushing out mediocre BLs just to profit off of them. It doesn't help that a lot of Asian countries with better production values and scripts are planning to make BLs as well
I'll be blunt, a lot of BL stans are almost, if not just as, cringey as most Kpop stans
There is NEVER a good reason to ship siblings, regardless of whether or not the sibling has the soul of their lover in their body or not
Not sure if this counts as an opinion, but it's hilarious when background characters hype up a character's appearance and when the character finally appears, it's just an average guy
I know HIStory did it, but body swapping should not count as BLs
The cute, baby-ish "ukes" are quite possibly some of the worst written characters in BLs
MingKit and J9 were the only good thing to come out of 2moons2. Pavel, also, but just barely
If a writer has not done extensive research on a serious subject like sexual assualt, they shouldn't write about it AT ALL. Looking at you, MAME
Gameboys and Hello Stranger are some of the best BLs to come out this year, yet a lot of BL fans are paying it this dust
FighterTutor alone saved Why R U? from being a complete mess, with or without COVID filming
