really sick of the monolithic way that response gets deployed, especially by those who think of themselves as decentralists

sick of brushing the reactionary and the ultra elements of a political org under their respective rugs and never allowing the twain to meet, let alone forcing them to

what are the means of production? in socialism is the people's control of them.

what are the means of control? in socialism, what are their roles?

really extra doubly sick of hearing "uhhh delete this?" from adults to children

imagining one of my mom's friends commenting "uhhh this is cringe" under one of my political xanga entries

a take can just suck. someone can just be wrong. they can be mis- or under-informed. a piece can be poorly researched or poorly written.

why "delete this"? why shame? why embarrassment? why... control?

sick to death of it all. sick of wondering whose headcop is gonna end up being the lifecop of all of us.

the thing is, you (whoever you are reading this) have bad takes too. you don't need to have them cut out of your brain with a scalpel. but you should interrogate them.

don't concern yourself with bad takes. instead, be on the lookout for HONEST takes and DISHONEST takes. they'll tell you way more about someone and where they stand.

give me an honest person with some bad takes over a dishonest person with all good takes ANY day.

it's easy to latch, like a barnacle, on to a monolithic opinion that everyone tells you is right. you barely have to make an effort, and you hardly even need to make sure you really believe it.

do the words sound right? do they feel right on the tongue? where are they reproduced from? your brain? or are they reflected, like an echo, off the inside of your skull?
