I did not think we could top “Tiktok Witches Hexed The Moon And Made It Sad” this week, but Worm Discourse Twitter is making a serious run for the top spot.
Okay, for my dear friends not plugged into Worm Discourse a Twitter (why am I typing these words?) somebody made a joke about C. elegans and then shit got really weird and somebody started claiming that worm jokes were micoaggressions on par with racism?

Yes, at one point it did involve actual POC scientists saying “Worm jokes are not racism” and then there was doubling down that maybe the worm was an allegory and at one point the phrase “the worms are hurt” was uttered non-ironically and this site is free, y’all.
