I reported two weeks ago that only 100 people had gotten the $1500 hardship payment Daniel Andrews is talking about now. The only way to get the payment was if DHHS contacted you, the website said.

If this payment was designed to stop people going to work after getting a test, this seems to be a problem with the design of the scheme? https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/covid-19-worker-support-payment
Andrews admits that the payment is only available to confirmed cases and close contacts. So actually the payment provided no incentive for people who had symptoms went and got a test – it was not available to them.
