Can't help but ask why we are just learning now about this incident that occurred in 2018. Lukens apparently "emailed officials at the State Department," but no indication he went beyond that and no sign any of those officials blew the whistle. I know they all face significant pressure, but that's a real failure and raises questions beyond just this incident....
This all would have been relevant during impeachment, for example. The fact it's only coming out two years after the fact is a sign the system has failed across the board and raises questions about how many other acts of corruption are yet to be uncovered.
