I'm nonbinary. I'm bisexual. I am aggressively queer.
And I'm anti-LGBTQ. You should be too. A thread. 1/11

Now, before you get out your pitchforks, hear me out.
LGBTQ is a label to describe a community. It's nebulous and it's nonspecific, but my objection is the very idea of community. 2/11

Community is a concept that is not only flawed, but harmful. The idea that a group of people can share a strong bond, a sense of identity, over just one facet of oneself is foolish. Nothing binds people to people but a bond of mutual affection or support. 3/11
People would label me LGBTQ, but I have no bond with "the community." I'm not automatically close to you just because of how I fuck or how I act, and I don't believe that anyone else is either. 4/11
"My community" is filled with individuals who would like nothing more than to see me harmed. It's full of racists, transphobes, gatekeepers, authoritarians, and so many more. I'm wary of "my community," and of who it houses. 5/11
I would never trust a random member of "my community" to have my back. Your status as LGBTQ does nothing for me. Who would I trust? My friends. The members of my circle. Nobody else. 6/11
There's a man. He's rich. He's the chief of police in his city, and he's "tough on crime." He's also gay. Do you have more in common with this man than a downtrodden non-LGBTQ who supports your absolute liberation? 7/11
If you're reading this, I assume your answer there is no. That man is a conformist who benefits from the system of your oppression. That man may be LGBTQ, but he's no queer. 8/11
Queerness is not an identity or community. It's a status. Queerness is being alienated from society, facing the brutal reality of a society who would cast you underfoot the second it becomes convenient. And so, I have one question for you. 9/11
Who is queer? Is it the gay police chief? Or the homeless schizophrenic who spends every waking hour in a desperate fight to survival in an uncaring world? What does it matter if the latter is LGBTQ? They're queer. 10/11
I encourage you to reconsider your indulgence in the concept of community and to bear in mind who truly is queer. Don't kid yourself into thinking any community will have your back.
Find those who care about you, those who would fight for you, and move forward with them. 11/11

anyways that's enough preaching for today time to go back to shitposting
