Oh wow. Going through DOJ Stephen Miller FOIA. This one sticks out. Miller emails WH COS John Kelly pointing out congressional testimony of HHS Commander Jonathan White, who said family separation “entails significant potential for traumatic psychological injury to the child.” /1
I write about backstory to this in “Separated: Inside an American Tragedy.” According to multiple people present at “murder board” prep session for White’s testimony, he was pressured to say separations weren’t harmful to kids by Katie Waldman (now Miller, Stephen‘s wife). /2
“I cannot give that answer under oath because it would be perjury,” White told Waldman.
“I’m sure you’re a bleeding heart liberal,” she said.
“Ms. Waldman, you should save that attitude for journalists. You literally traumatized these kids.”
