So one of my roles at the Examiner is editing the Washington Briefing section of the magazine. It's a lot of policy work which may not excite a lot of people but the people doing the work are great reporters and I just want to extend some notice to them here:
Energy - @SiegelScribe and @AbbySmithDC are both terrific reporters in this sector, covering a wide range of issues, people and policies
Healthcare - @CassMorrison94 and @DavidHogberg do great work whether it's digging into a story or providing sharp analysis of an issue.
Healthcare - @CassMorrison94 and @DavidHogberg do great work whether it's digging into a story or providing sharp analysis of an issue.
White House - @robcrilly and @jimantle are total pros. Rob has great ideas and will also take what I suggest and run with it. Antle has a real knack for practical analysis that is often lacking in a world of uber-partisanship
Finance - @NihalKrishan is a terrific reporter. Whether he's interviewing someone at AEI or a business executive or reporting on how companies are using crowdfunding as a revenue stream, his work is always top-notch.
Transportation & Infrastructure - @jeremylottdiary has been killing it since he started covering this beat. He's always looking for new angles or is open to suggestions and always gets a wide variety of people on the record for his work.
Congress - Me emailing or texting @susanferrechio "Can you cover this for the latest issue?" The reply is always, "Sure!" and she gets it done, when it comes to the latest machinations going on in the halls at Capitol Hill.
Defense/Natl Security - @jamiejmcintyre is one of the best in the business not only at getting stories but providing great analysis. @AbrahamReporter fills in occasionally provides stellar work as well.
It's a pleasure working with all of them. Be sure to read their work.
