*Thread* So a few weeks ago I reached out to @HannahFButcher for her professional opinion re: a situation I found myself in. Even though I've been running a small business for almost 9yrs now, that business is different to my freelance business+the way I'm paid for work differs
I wanted to say #thankyou
to Hannah, I followed what you said+got out quickly+trusted my gut. I've also learned a #freelancer lesson, just because I have integrity, honesty+good faith, does not mean other people also have these values+this is a sad. There won't be a next time

But another life lesson learned the hard way, value yourself+the work you do+most importantly *know your worth and uphold it*. If you feel someone is 'taking advantage of your good work ethic' + veiling their excuses for not paying you for "doing a good job+bringing value"
Then they're not worth your time/effort/loyalty. It's a small world+reputation precedes you, no matter what, which is why I will continue to be myself, be honest, give
every time (and then some). I'll always strive (maybe in my naivety) to see the good in people until they

Give me reason not to. I'll always remain the consummate professional+writing this thread has bothered me a little because I rarely tweet on personal matters but if I don't share my voice, who will speak for me? I've had to fight everyday since childhood to be *seen* rather than
Judged for the colour of my skin, my ethnicity+so much more. That's a whole other story for another day though
