. @ThingsIDoForMo1 stars Maximillian Aoki & Theodor Aoki as Nick and Eli, cello-playing Japanese-Canadian brothers in this new film from @warrenpsonoda
Fun fact! Their dad Ed plays Eli and Nick’s uncle “Just Jimmy” in the film!
. @ThingsIDoForMo1 also stars Rhett Morita as Tosh Yaguchi. Rhett is an award-winning cinematographer 
Joining us from the UK is Colette Zacca who plays villain Brenda Mickel in the film. Colette says she very much enjoyed her time filming in Ontario.

I think this means Christoph is like @warrenpsonoda and doesn’t sleep. We can’t talk about the shiner and stitches Christoph is sporting but his M/U artist friends are asking for pics everyday so they can recreate the injury...
Actor and accomplished musician @DaniloRayTunes is also with us tonight. Danilo and Dax both commented on learning from each other on set.
Last but certainly not least, Jennifer Lynn Walton is also with us tonight. Jennifer plays Mary Yaguchi in the film and talked about intense car scenes on set. @warrenpsonoda assures us they were safe!
I was mistaken earlier. The shoot was only 13 days!!! One day on a short shoot is such a big deal. I can’t believe this was made in 13 days.
Big thanks from the production team to the @cityofhamilton. “Everyone knows Hamilton is a great place to shoot”. Helped to have folks who knew the city so well and it really was the perfect location.

. @ThingsIDoForMo1 was set to premiere on April 8th and had a 9-city limited theatical release all set up. @AviFedergreen & @warrenpsonoda talk about the impact on the film and the creative team.
As a producer I can’t imagine having made such a personal film and not being able to share it as planned.

We’ve had the chance to hear @warrenpsonoda speak a number of times and he is very passionate about representation on screen.
Yodit Tewoderos commented on that earlier. She saw the audition info specifically seeking a black female skater. When she got the job, she thought they were joking.

Colette Zacca comments that this script would never had been made in the UK.
. @warrenpsonoda “We didn’t go into this seeking to make the definitive Japanese Canadian movie. We wanted to make a good movie.”
Yodit “To have a real voice” onscreen was so important. Her character wasn’t a token character but rather the character of Laura is responsible for “all the big narrative moves” as @warrenpsonoda describes it.
Jennifer is talking about ageism in film especially for women and how great it was to have actors of the same age onscreen playing a couple.
@warrenpsonoda comments that it’s often a very young woman cast against a 40 y.o. man in couples.

How does @DaniloRayTunes see his role? “It was a great role”. Even though Gonzo is part of a crime family, he isn’t an evil guy. He’s a hard-working diligent guy.

Dax loved that the film has farce and that his character Alexi isn’t one-layered.
Max and Theo are cellists (soundtrack will be released later this year!)

Music represents so much in the film. Max and Theo ended up writing their own piece for the film. 20 days out from shooting, they had to hammer out the composition in 7 days then learn it well enough for the film.
They also scored the film. First time composers! After they finished shooting, they wanted to relax then started getting all the emails from @warrenpsonoda about musical cues...
