I like looking at like pure acting/dialogue sequence in superhero stuff, and Immonen is so good at it. Each panel’s composition has story in its framing choice (p2, 4, 7!!!) and the expressions and acting is extreme in subtle ways.
Like the framing and acting here adds weight to that “what’s left for us here?” line. Finished packing up, but two hands leaning and cramming the boot. There’s a bit of frustration, annoyance, defeat... in both acting and action
Even here— acting is exaggerated enough in that downbeat response, scratching the back of the neck (specific actions are always good), and the panel cut by the shot of the crammed car and shouting kids. This chap is defeated, even if you don’t read the dialogue.
