Sané on rejecting a new contract at City: "It wasn't easy. Pep and this fantastic team were the reason I went to Manchester. But in my mind I wanted to try something new. Bayern's concepts and plans fit me the best. Therefore I made my decision"
Sané: "Hasan Salihamidžić and his concept played a very big role. He stood behind the transfer from the first moment and was not put off by anything. I'm grateful for that. He showed me how the club works, which team he has in mind and how things will look like"
Sané: "I know a lot of guys here, I fit in very well here. And I wanted to be part of the successful Bayern path. In the end I felt how the whole club, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Herbert Hainer, Oliver Kahn and also Uli Hoeneß tried to make sure that the move will work"

Sané: "That was another sign that the club really wanted me. I know a lot of the players here and we've chemistry together. We know how everyone works and can help each other"

Sané on the discussion about his character: "That surprised me. That came from people who don't know me and don't know how I work. How can someone do something like that? I would never speak about the character of someone I don't know."
Sané: "The Bayern system fits me perfectly. Wingers shape the Bayern game and that of course suits me. For me that was a very important point"
Sané on why he didn't join Bayern in 2016: "At that point, I didn't see a perspective in Munich. Robben & Ribéry were at a top level and I wasn't ready yet. Bayern were of course appealing to me, but at that point I wouldn't have gotten much game time & it wasn't the right step"
Sané on asking for the number 10 shirt: "Arjen Robben wore it, even Uli Hoeneß in the past. I know which responsibility comes with wearing this number"
Sané on Uli Hoeneß: "I went to his home in Tegernsee after signing the contract & we spoke. I know that he also stood behind the transfer. I also spoke with the president Herbert Hainer. We've had a good discussion and I noticed how passionate he is about football & Bayern"
Sané on Hansi Flick: "I know Hansi from the U21 national team. I know his working style & his personality. We spoke about what he expects from the team and from me, the targets and how things will look like. I was very happy that Hansi will be my coach. It was a good phone call"
Sané on which Bayern players he spoke with about the transfer: "It wasn't like they call me everyday saying: are you coming? When will it finally be over? But Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry and Joshua Kimmich were informed and contacted me"

Are you happy that you didn't cost the €145m that City were demanding last year?

Sané: "No, there were just some jokes here and there, but nobody made fun of the fact I'm going back to Germany. Bayern are very well respected in England"

Sané: "The guys here are hungry and focused. They have big goals with the club. I definitely see a realistic chance of winning the Champions League with Bayern"
Sané on choosing not to continue the season with City: "That's correct. But the club also wanted me to prepare well for the new season and focus on my new tasks in Munich. If I stayed with City until the end of the season, the preparation with Bayern would have been too short"
Sané on whether Lewandowski would've had a good chance of winning the Ballon d'Or before it was canceled: "Robert is playing a great season and his numbers are fantastic. I think if Bayern wins the CL, he would have had realistic chances to be world's footballer of the year"
Sané: "I wasn't thinking about the national team when I decided to join Bayern. However, I know that having a strong and big Bayern block helps the national team during tournaments"
