1. 'Made in Xi'
Thinking of doing a slow burn Twitter thread on the #LinguisticLandscape of apartment names in Korea and this vertical blue text certainly caught my eye. 'Xi' is an apartment brand in Korea that I've seen in quite a few places I think . . .
2. 'Viva Family'
A name centered on celebrating family, with a bit of style added by 'Viva' and the English word 'family'. A very typical, in some ways, apartment name in Korea, I think . . .

3. 'Ho Ban' and 'Summit Place'
I am really not sure what is going on with 'Ho Ban' but 'Summit Place' is interesting and appealing combination of English words, wonder if this apartment was named around the time of some bigger Korea related summits . . .

4. 'Samick' apartments here using both the Roman alphabet and Chinese characters, with one photo taken by me and another from a real estate website of another complex, I believe. Interesting use of writing systems, font, and design to covey a feeling here

5. '성진쉐르빌' or 'Seongjin Chereville', a much smaller apartment building than the previous large complexes but the name is interesting for the example of French, I think, in the apartment #LinguisticLandscape of Korea . . .
6. Also cannot ignore that numbers are a key part of the #LinguisticLandscape of apartments in Korea. Some neat @simonstalenhag aesthetics here too . . .
7. Hildesheim or '힐데스하임', a transliteration, adds some German to the apartment #LinguisticLandscape of Korea, albeit with an apartment complex still under construction . . .
8. 'TOP's VILL' is another interesting use of English, perhaps with 'top' being associated with best and 'vill' being associated with a village like atmosphere, though 'vill' may now just be a typical and unremarkable part of the apartment #LinguisticLandscape of Korea . . .
9. '성원상떼빌 (Sungwon SanteVille)
Health & Happiness'
The apartment name seems to be in Korean with an English message below. I wonder what this English text is as it may not really part of the name of this apartment. . . #LinguisticLandscape
10. '+1
청광플러스원' or 'Chungkwang plus one', with 'plus one' being a transliteration, is another brand of another construction company. This apartment brand name combines a construction company name and an English phrase . . .

11. 'Bangbae Hestia I'
A sign for 'apartments' that has fascinated me for a while. A much smaller building, which has me wondering about the relationship between building and apartment complex sizes and differences in naming practices . . . #LinguisticLandscape
12. 'Human Touch Ville
외국인임대아파트 (foreigner rent apartments)'
Two very different messages here in two different languages in the apartment #LinguisticLandscape of Seoul . . .
13. 'Lotte Castle'
The eagle here is quite something and my impression is that Lotte Castle is one of the major brands of apartments in Korea, but I'm really not sure. This has me wondering about associations with the English word 'castle' around the world

14. 'Vine Vill
바인빌'
This probably should not be in the same category as the other massive apartment complexes but the name and design struck me and made me wonder more about differences in naming practices between smaller residential buildings and larger apartment complexes
15. '동원 로얄 듀크 VISTA
Dongwon Royal Duke Vista', with the Korean a transliteration of the English.
Perhaps this name suggests class, status, and luxury, but I find the styling, architecture, and colors alongside the name quite synergistic in an interesting way . . .
16. 'Vertium'
This name has me thinking of the vertical nature of these apartments and of Latin, and is another English-like, Roman alphabet using addition to the apartment #LinguisticLandscape of Korea . . .
17. '신동아'
Of course, there are many apartments with Korean text and names and great questions waiting to be asked about how apartment names in different languages and writing systems are constructed in Korea . . .
