1) Had enough people ask me why the endings of LOW and Seven to Eternity are taking so long that I wanted to address it. First, the self-satisfied headliine, these books are labors of love. None of them were built with a paycheck in mind...
2) If we were to approach them from a crass and strictly financial position, we wouldn't do them for longer than five issues.

For single-issue comic sales, all but the most rare and popular books tend to drift downward after issue 5...
3) And, if you're just looking to sell IP to Hollywood, 5 issues is plenty to get the job done.

Our goal on these books is to create evergreen sequential art of a high quality that stands the test of time... and that takes time. And we do it at a financial loss...
4) On a book like LOW, if we’d wrapped it at issue 13 we could've done an entire other series for 13 issues, doubling the amount of IP we can take to market.
5) But instead we've spent the last decade developing and producing one beautiful, longform story at a pace that allows Greg to do his best work.

The reason, and it makes me feel like a bit of a hippie to say so, is the reason we became artists and writers to begin with…
6) Human connection via the best work we are capable of.
7) I learned w FEAR AGENT a book made w love, to the best abilities of all involved, stands the test of time & the audience will grow year-by-year as opposed to the average monthly comic which disappears in a hurricane of continuity, corporate crossovers, & flimsy media pitches.
8) That is the template we are following on SEVEN TO ETERNITY, THE SCUMBAG, DEADLY CLASS, DEATH OR GLORY, BLACK SCIENCE, and LOW. To create art that we feel so proud of that if we made nothing else, we’d have accomplished what we set out to accomplish as artists.
9) So, that's why the books are late. And I recognize that can be frustrating to readers, but when the stories are done, and can be read from beginning to end, I believe the reward to be more fulfilling and longer lasting for us and you.
