Hello peeps! 🤗💙
I saw many Chelsea mates still wondering about where and how we are gonna play our new arrivals, How Lampsy is gonna come up with a perfect system to utilize them.. especially Werner who is seemingly incapable of playing as a lone striker in PL.
👇
Well, we shall dip in to it in the following thread;
TIMO WERNER:

Clinical feet.
Uses his speed to dismantle defenses.
Likes to drift left while attacking.
Scores from the left side often.
Counter attacking threat.
Helps team mates to score as well.
Good link up.
Helps to press.
It's true that Werner seems not to fit in as a lone striker in PL. He is not that type of player who can play with his back to goal or hold up 2 or 3 defenders. He isn't aerially that good either.

BUT.. we can still use him as a lone striker 👇
He can be used as a lone striker, much like a false 9, like how Sarri played Haza against Man City in our 2-0 win last season.
This gives him more freedom to move and drift to his fav left side while Pulisic can cut in. He can also be very useful in counter attacks in this system
He can make runs behind the lines and move btwn the lines to receive and exchange passes. This can be the strongest team on paper we could play if certain transfers get's done.
This is the most expected system we might play. This is also very similar to the current system we use.
This is one of the formations RB Leipzig uses more often where Werner plays as the left striker.
We can also use this system as we have enough players suited for these positions.
Werner will have the freedom for his movements and the right striker can play the supporting role.
Pulisic can drift in and the LCM or LB can move into the wide LM positions while attacking. A certain German talent we may sign could play as Right striker or at the wings and even at CM due to his positional versatility.
(The right striker may be Giru as well as Tammy)
This wide diamond formation would be ideal if we are to play a two striker system. Kante, Kovacic or Jorginho can play the CDM or holding role, while we have options including Mason Mount, Ziyech and the German youngster to play the CAM role. Werner can play as usual Left striker
This is a classical diamond formation with four center midfielders. Werner can play his natural game in this two striker system were we can play four of Kante, Kovacic , Jorginho, Mount, RLC, Ziyech or any CM in a single shot.

..continued..
This system can win possession in midfield but lacks game at wide areas. Jorgi can play long balls from deep Midfld to Werner. This is not expected to try out by Lamps as our Wingers including Pulisic has less chance to be a part of this. And thus cannot play our strongest squad.
This is the system we played most of the season. (4-2-3-1/4-2-1-3 depending on wing or wing mid.)
Any two of Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho & Gilmour when fit can play in the double pivot roles. Mount, Ziyech or our new signing or even Pulisic can be the playmaker.

..continued..
Even though Werner can play as a lone fwd in this system, it will be difficult for him to play there holding the PL defenders and winning aerial battles. It'd be better to position him like a false 9 so that he gets more freedom and movement. He can make runs between the lines.
The system 6 is same as system 5 discussed previously (4-2-3-1/4-2-1-3), but the difference is in both system 6 & 7, Timo Werner is used as a left winger. He can play as a left winger as he usually score goals or create chances mostly from left.

..continued..
This will also provide him with the freedom to move more and take runs than being the centre striker. Even though, it's highly unlikely for Frank to try him on the left flank as it's seemingly he bought Werner to play as a striker itself.
Share if you feel it's nice for your Chelsea mates to take a look. 🙃
