I was just reading last year AR of a company, after reading IPO objective, i am totally confused.

Company AR said.

Utilisation of IPO Proceeds: The company's IPO was by way of an offer for sale by existing shareholders and proceed were paid to the offering shareholders.

Cont..
Here 3 persons offered their share
MD & 2 investors,

Before one month of IPO, Convertible preference shares few lacs converted into equity and allotted to company's MD.

My confusion was, if any company coming with IPO, they need money for business, as many a time we heard this
Here I just wants to tell all of you, till date, I only applied for Dmart IPO, that too out of the respect, without reading anything.

Means I don't have much knowledge on IPO.

So on random basis I starts checking objective of companies launched IPO recently.
I find only 2 companies (on sample basis) which have same objective : selling equity shares of existing share holders and playing proceeds to them.

1. Lemon tree
2. IRCTC
If, I am reading correct.

Company I am reading AR and lemon tree both eroded money after listing gains.
But, IRCTC doing good, may be debt free status and monopoly.

Lemon tree n company I am reading AR, both had debt before listing ( pls add points here, I am just reading, don't have much knowledge in IPO)
IRCTC IPO OBJECTIVE
LEMON TREE IPO OBJECTIVE
Normal objectives which we used to read or listen before IPO

1. Repayment of loan
2. New facility, expansion
3. Funding WC

Means, many a time if we read Objective of IPO, it's link with business growth.

I may be wrong, I doing this at random basis.

DMART IPO OBJECTIVE
ROSSARI BIOTECH IPO OBJECTIVE
CSB BANK
Kindly add inputs, my observations might be wrong....If you came across any company IPO, Which has non business objective, just back test their share price performance after listing....It will be very helpful🙏
