Durbin is using doctors "fighting COVID" as the people in the Green Card backlog. He's talking about aged out children of H-1B visa workers.
He's criticizing Mike Lee's S386 bill. He's using the Congressional Research Studies (CRS) report to attack S386. Not enough Green Cards.
He's now talking about the Durbin-Lee amendment. He says the 50-50 H-1B reform amendment has been the one most debated. He's claiming that Microsoft & Intel use the visas appropriately but Indian IT outsourcing companies abuse it. Well, Microsoft is abusing it too.
He's claiming that Sen. Mike Lee wants to delay the 50-50 rule for Indian IT outsourcing companies for 3 years.
Sen. Lee is objecting to Sen. Durbin right now. He rejects everything Sen. Durbin has said.
Sen. Lee acknowledging that him pushing S386 has brought him a lot of political backlash.

That’s a wrap folks. S386 is rejected. It’s a terrible bill. Once again, @SenMikeLee using the false story of India’s population size as a basis of why India suffers from the backlog. That is false & incorrect! It’s abuse of the H-1B visa program by one country causing it.
