i’m just gonna say something to address men who get offended at jokes where they are the punchline, or white people who get offended that Black people can make fun of them but it can’t be reversed...etc.

there’s a rule in comedy that you can punch up, but you can’t punch down.
what does that mean?

basically if you’re in a position of power, you can’t hit the person underneath you. if you’re the person who lacks power, hit away.

they have enough societal support to withstand. their offense is based on a joke, not centuries of inequality
so if you’re a guy who responds, “not all men” or “wow that’s sexist”

or a white person who says “that’s racist!,” or “wow, but if i made a joke about Black people”

1) learn about your privelage
2) you can scroll past that joke and your “oppression” is gone
3) shut the fuck up
