It still makes me really sad when people say, ‘Why do you have a stethoscope, I thought you were a physiotherapy student?’, particularly now with all of the hard work respiratory physiotherapists are doing & have done to help Covid-19 patients (A thread).
I’m always happy to explain that it is a speciality, particularly as in school I was unaware of this until my Mum (an ICU nurse) informed me. Cardiorespiratory is an important and key part of our education at university.
I feel that now is as great a time as any to shout our praises to our colleagues & educators for all the hard work & nights on call that they have contributed. Now is not the time to be modest. We see you. We understand your role. We appreciate your dedication & contribution.
