It’s getting closer to the election, which means the divisive trolling & whisper campaigns & ratf*cking are picking up. I’d encourage you to expend your energy on activities related to the pandemic, the fascist occupation of US cities, GOTV efforts, or literally anything else.
Also, you guys aren’t stupid. Use your brains. If you see people trying to discredit journalists or rehashing old internet rumors or telling people who to listen to/not listen to, ask yourself why they’re doing that and who it benefits.

We’re not repeating 2016, ratf*ckers.
And on a personal note to the ratf*ckers amongst us: You can miss me with your little online larping gangs and rumors and whatever the hell else your deranged brains come up with. Seriously, go do something with your life and don’t make me part of it.
I‘ve been a target of this stuff for ~4 years, so I feel obligated to say something before more people become targets or unwitting accomplices. Basically, the point of ratf*cking is to create chaos & confusion, with the ultimate goal of obstructing real activism/research/etc.
Here’s a thread I wrote a little while ago about outrage trolls & tag-teams, which are very much still A Thing. I would encourage you to ignore them entirely because engaging with their accounts in any way is just pouring fuel on the fire.

Also, be prepared for more sophisticated, automated disinformation that is designed to target your interests & vulnerabilities, and is also much harder to detect and debunk. Here’s some information on what that looks like (see linked thread).
