Key Finding 1: RELATIONSHIPS MATTER. Educatorsâ number one worry is relationship building and the ability to socially connect and engage with students and families. 2/
Key Finding 2: TECHNOLOGY IS IMPORTANT. Technology is a significant concern for educators. It was the most frequently mentioned topic in the qualitative responses in the areas of needed supports and professional development. 3/
Key Finding 3: EDUCATORS ARE WORRIED â About (Students) (Families) (Themselves) Factors relate to learning in the 2020-2021 school year, from how they will build relationships in distance learning to how they will be able to stay healthy in in-person learning. 4/
Key Finding 4: LEARNING OCCURRED FOR EDUCATORS. While distance learning presented many challenges, educators also reported that there were lessons learned and skills acquired that they will carry with them into whatever the fall brings, and eventually their classrooms. 5/
RESPONDENTS: 13,000+ Educators from 400+ Districts/Charters from across MN responded to 19 questions and entered over 15,000 individual comments. 6/
DELIVERY OF DL: Majority of respondents used a mix of online and print delivery in a mix of synchronous and asynchronous environments 7/
PREPAREDNESS TO DO THE WORK: 57% of educators report districts provided âenoughâ or âmore than enoughâ PD and support to do their best during DL. 9/
SUCCESSES & CHALLENGES â TEACHERS: Top 3 Successes: Tech use, Connecting w/Ss, Connecting w/Fs. Top 3 Challenges: Assessment, Supporting need of Ss receiving SPED services, connecting w/Families 10/

COLLABORATION: Educators report PLCs/Grade-Subject teams & Touch Points w/ Admin about the same or more than before. Educators report Student support/Problem solving teams & MTSS/RtI leadership teams meeting less often. 13/

CONCLUSIONS: We need to support educators and provide them with the tools, resources, and strategies to provide quality instruction, establish and maintain healthy relationships with students, partner with families, and increase their own self-efficacy. 15/
