Scot Gov is refusing to say what it thinks the prevalence for Spain is, saying the figure they have is UK Government data and it's for them to give out. This despite Nicola Sturgeon making public the Spain data from UK Gov on July 8 - 330 people in every 100,000. (thread.. 1/4) https://twitter.com/ChrisMusson/status/1285545944843522048
Scot Gov, however, do say Spain's prevalence (based on UK Gov data from Joint Biosecurity Centre) is now "at around the same level as that in Scotland". Which begs the Qs: What is it in Scotland? And what is public re Spain's prevalence? (2/3)
Based on July 17 mid estimate here in Scot Gov report from July 16, Scotland's prevalence is 9 per 100,000 people. A lot lower than the 27 per 100,000 for Spain, which was widely reported yesterday (comments from health emergency official Maria Jose Sierra) (3/4)
These may be different measures. I'm not sure. But Scot Gov refusing to state the number they have based their decision on doesn't help. Argument that it's UK Gov data falls down given they have publicised it previously. (We've also asked UK Gov for figure) (4/4)
