So many people are asking what we can do about McMaster giving 66% of his CARES Act discretionary education funds to private schools. We can’t force him to undo it. But we CAN make plans for the 2020 and 2022 elections. The truth is that this should not surprise any of us. 1/3
He campaigned on the platform of giving public funds to private schools - even while our public schools are not funded at a “minimally adequate” level. @JamesSmithSC and I worked every day to make people aware of our differences with him on issues like these - 2/3
What can be done now? There are people running for House & Senate now who agree w/ him. Maybe people you support. Research the candidates (school board to President) and know where they stand on issues you care about: then ask more questions. Elections have consequences. 3/3
