1. Recruitment: Fantastic core training recruitment 2020 @DrKateLovett #choosepsychiatry & a great specialty to work in. We need to continue to develop this for all ST specialties for the benefit of future patients across the full range of mental healthcare. Vital.
2. We value our #IMGs who make incredible sacrifices to work in our #NHS. They deserve our full support as we reduce differential attainment, assist in their training, and develop their skills. We also work to provide anti-racist MH services for our patients and value diversity
3. Psychiatry attracts the #BrightestandBest trainees; we develop opportunities to achieve excellence in training/research/education/leadership and encourage them to do this. Continually impressed by how much people achieve in our programmes, & we fully back these aspirations
4. Our fantastic supervisors need time and skills to develop their trainees and we fully recognize the outstanding contribution they make across the specialty. We aim to help them develop the skills they need to provide excellent training to trainees at all levels
5. Training needs to be meaningful and supportive of each trainee's circumstances. Tailored programmes, #LTFT, extra-opportunities, further input where needed, exam support, high-quality individual supervision, meaningful #ARCPs... all part of #PersonalisedTraining
We will do our utmost here in the #EastofEngland @NHSHEE_EoE to provide the very best psychiatry training we can for our @rcpsychTrainees. Where we fall short - challenge us, and where we succeed - we celebrate with you !
