Name a book that changed you.
There are many but Children of the Alley Naguib Mahfouz is the one that comes to mind at the moment. The juxtaposition of the different religions and modernity and presentation of the idea that God is beyond religion.
There's also Like the Flowing River by Paulo Coelho. I struggle with many of his ideas but there is a sentence in that book that helped me navigate my spirituality while transitioning from religion. "You don't have to go to a man-made building to find God. He is everywhere".
I struggle with many of Paulo Coelho's ideas and it was a difficult read but that sentence really resonated with me especially at that time.
