my older brother tested positive for COVID. I was in the same house as him. He isolated in his office & used a diff bathroom. We wore masks, frequently washed our hands and wiped things down. He recovered & we all tested negative. Masks work. Social distancing works.
I’m so happy he is okay. I was so worried. He has a newborn son and has a 4 yr old daughter. He works for the Navajo Nation (which is battling the highest rates of COVID) as an emergency medicine doctor. I don’t know what I would do without him.
I already knew the danger of this virus but even more so now with it hitting so close to home. I can’t explain how it feels to have a family member have it and see people protesting mask wearing, still going out to bars/parties, & acting like nothing is happening.
If you are able, please consider donating to COVID relief funds for Navajo Nation & other surrounding tribal communities. Indigenous ppl are disproportionately affected by COVID https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IG9uNbKF_xxdNWXB667YxBuRbnnRUDOnf6PcPGGECeI/mobilebasic
