Apparently a certain tech company claims to hire “top talent” with like, 10 rounds of interviews.
Yeah. No. That just means they hire people who are *willing to put up with* a ridiculously long process, and then justify it by labeling them “top talent.” Not how that works.

These companies don’t know what they’re doing and they’re certainly not hiring top talent. https://twitter.com/jenistyping/status/1054401008976023553
Google ran the data on their hiring process and found that in most cases, 4 interviews are enough to identify great candidates. (I’m feeling too lazy to link but you can look it up :))
Still, you’ll probably need more than 4 interviews! Consider the different contexts & the fact that hiring is a 2-way street.
If you don’t have infrastructure/brand pull of Google, your process will need more touch points. But 10 rounds is going overboard

here’s a previous thread for companies on making a hiring decision – that doesn’t involve tacking on more interview rounds: https://twitter.com/jenistyping/status/1207348546426621954?s=21 https://twitter.com/jenistyping/status/1207348546426621954
