At the end of last week, I had to travel for work. As a lawyer, I provide an essential service. I had to head out of Vancouver and stay in another, smaller community overnight to do my job. I would not have left otherwise.

What I saw bothered me a lot.
When I arrived at my hotel, there were several people in the lobby waiting to check in. One was a large group, and all people did not need to be there. None were wearing masks.
I had to ask members of the group, who were standing in front of the main doors, not distancing, and moving around socializing, to keep 6' away from me. I had to explain that I was distancing. They seemed surprised. Sad to see the hotel not enforcing distancing and people limits.
At court things were great. Love our court. BC Sheriffs are doing an excellent job ensuring distancing is happening.
Heading out to eat, almost no one wearing masks or distancing on patios/waiting for tables outside. People standing at sidewalk entrances and exits, and in doorways, making it hard to get by without keeping space. Again - no masks.
At the airport, people were not wearing masks in the terminal by and large. Most were not distancing. Seats were not blocked off in the departure lounge, and two people sat right next to me, when there was space to distance.
On the plane, many had to be told to put the mask over their nose.
People - please - speaking as someone who had this virus, you do not want to get it and you do not want to spread it. Please, for the love of your family and friends, wear your mask and distance.
